Our Strategic Plan Educational Strategic Planning focuses everyone's attention on areas of importance for a school district. During 2005, the Buckeye Valley School District decided to revisit its Strategic Plan, which was last revised in 2001. Buckeye Valley was able to partner with Honda Corporation to complete the plan. Dee Ketterling, a Honda Educational Consultant, facilitated the process.
A Strategic Plan can only be accomplished with a great deal of input from the Board of Education, staff and community. This was done through a community survey, more than 20 committee meetings, and many informal meetings. The four major areas in which the District wants to concentrate are Student Achievement, Finances, Facilities, and Communication. The District has community committees in these four areas that meet about four times a year to discuss topics of interest and make appropriate suggestions in each area. If you are interested in serving on any of these committees, please call the Central Office and you will be given information about the committees.
When the Buckeye Valley Board of Education approved the Strategic Plan in December 2005, it gave further credibility and importance to this process. In short, Honda Corporation, the Buckeye Valley Board of Education, staff and community feels this is a very important step in achieving the goal of becoming an excellent school district. If you have questions or comments about the BV Strategic Plan or the BV School District, please contact the BV Central Office at (740) 369-8735 or feel free to email us.
