Welcome Administration Finance Curriculum Special Education Transportation Twenty four million children ride 440,000 school buses every day. On the average, students spend 90 minutes each weekday in a school bus. School buses across America are driven more than 4 billion miles each year. In Ohio, 20,000 buses transport 1 1/3 million students daily. The Buckeye Valley Local School District is 197 square miles in area. We transport 2,000 students a half million miles each year with a fleet of around 30 buses. We have 21 daily double routes transporting our students to one high school, one middle school and three elementary schools. Jim Thompson, our Special Needs Bus Driver, was voted the Central Ohio Bus Driver of the Year last school year. Jim is just one of our drivers dedicated to the welfare and safety of our students traveling to and from school, to athletic events and other school activities off campus. Our goal is to make your student's transportation to and from school a non-event so they can prepare for their day at school. We have established policies and guidelines to help in this endeavor. Please acquaint yourself with these guidelines by downloading and reading the Student Transportation Handbook. We appreciate your support in assuring your student's welfare and safety on the bus. Our bus routes for the 09-10 will be online soon. Our drivers tweak their routes throughout the school year as students, road conditions and weather change. You can help in our effort by having your student at the bus stop several minutes prior to the bus arrival time. Bus drivers will not wait for students.
