Regular education with related services, which may include speech therapy, physical therapy, etc. Regular education with tutorial support. Tutorial services are offered to the student who may need clarification, modifications, and/or the re-teaching of a specific concept or skill to remain successful in the general curriculum. Regular education with inclusionary support. Instruction and intervention are provided by the regular and special education staff working together to serve the student. Regular education with resource room services, which are available for a child who may need instruction and services provided in a significantly different manner and academic pace in comparison to his or her peers. Self-contained classroom in the public school setting. For a small number of students, self-contained classrooms are available for the majority of their core academic subjects and pre-vocational learning opportunities. Self-contained classroom in the nonpublic school setting. Home instruction. This option is delivered in the home or community setting for students whose medical conditions or disabilities prevent them from attending public school. An educational team evaluates students who are suspected of having a handicapping condition that substantially affects their learning. The specialists may include the student's classroom teachers, intervention specialist, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, school psychologist, counselor, school nurse and administrator. Referrals for Suspected Preschool Children with Disabilities The Buckeye Valley Local Schools works in conjunction with the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio(ESCCO), and Delaware County Board of Developmental Disabilities to provide screening, assessment and services for eligible students ages 3 years through school age. The ESC organizes the child checks for the county.
